From local to global dynamics in competitive systems

In this talk, I will introduce two classes of competitive Lotka-Volterra systems in a constant and homogeneous environment and in advective environment, respectively. We try to understand what affects the outcome of the competition: competitive exclusion or coexistence. In mathematics we wonder if the global dynamics of the systems can be deduced from its local dynamics. This talk is based on joint works with W. Li, R. Wang and P. Zhou.


Biography:


肖冬梅,女,上海交通大学特聘教授。 1991年毕业于北京大学基础数学专业,获博士学位,主要从事动力系统分支理论及其在医学和生物中应用的研究,发表学术论文100多篇,其研究成果被国际微分方程界著名专家在多本专著中引用,与他人合作分别于 2003年获教育部自然科学一等奖;2006年获上海市自然科学二等奖。2004年入选教育部“新世纪优秀人才”计划;2009年获“国家杰出青年科学基金”,2010年入选上海市优秀学科带头人计划。
