汤涛,男,汉族,1963年5月出生,1990年参加工作,理学博士,长江学者讲座教授,中国科学院海外知名学者,北京大学客座教授,美国工业与应用数学学会会士(SIAM Fellow)。汤涛教授1984年取得北京大学数学学士学位;1989年获英国利兹大学数学博士学位;1990年至1998年执教于加拿大西门菲莎大学,取得终身教职;1998年加入香港浸会大学,2003年任数学讲座教授。汤涛教授曾任香港浸会大学数学系系主任、研究生院院长、代理副校长、协理副校长、理学院院长。2015年5月被聘为南方科技大学科研副校长。
